Cool To Be You, The Descendents' tenth album, holds true to the band's modus operandi. That is to say, they haven't changed their style at all. They're not chasing the current trend, they're not looking to re-invent themselves, and they're not doing anything but being the Descendents. All one has to do is whip through a quick Descendents check-list to see what I'm talking about. Milo Aukerman's self-deprecating, easy-to-relate-to lyrics? Check. Stephen Egerton's driving guitar? Check. Karl Alvarez and Bill Stevenson's super tight rhythms? Check. Bizarre chord changes (that seem to flow perfectly)? Check. Fart noises? Check. Everything you'd expect from a classic Descendents album is gloriously intact.
