More Info
⢠Bomb The Bass' No.18 debut album.
⢠A successful blend of breakbeats, samples and scratching, that was first witnessed on their debut and from nowhere single âBeat Disâ that reached No.2 in the UK singles charts.
⢠Featuring four bonus tracks, alternative mixes of their hit singles taken from the album; âBeat Dis (Gangster Boogie Inc. Remix)â #2, âDon't Make Me Wait (Maximum Frequency Mix)â #6, âMegablast (Original Rap featuring Merlin)â #6 and âSay A Little Prayer (Get Down & Pray Mix)â #10.
⢠With contributions made by Merlin, 23 Skidoo and Nellee Hooper and a booklet that includes sleeve notes and a complete UK Discography.
Bomb The Bass exploded into the UK singles charts with their debut single âBeat Disâ in February 1988, reaching number 2. Initially little was known about the people behind the record as it appeared from nowhere and was released on an unknown label, Mister-Ron Records, as it turned out an imprint of Rhythm King Records. Reputedly costing ÂŁ500 to record âBeat Disâ was a record of the moment, marking the shift away from expensive recording studios to more homemade record making, utilising the increasingly affordable sampling technology that was at the heart of the bandâs output.
