A firm shop favourite, Pye Corner Audio brings us his second album on the ever-brilliant Sonic Cathedral. “More Songs About the Sun” acts as a sequel of sorts to our 2022 album of the year “Let’s Emerge”. The title is a light-hearted acknowledgement that the album picks up exactly where the last one ended. Opener “Euphoria” mixes blissed-out Balearica with guitars by labelmate (and Ride/Oasis member) Andy Bell. Everything here feels big, bold and acid-bright, with a sunny haze permeating every second.

Martin Jenkins (the man behind PCA) says “If there’s a theme that runs throughout then it’s optimism, even in these darkened days. The sun will continue to rise… even if there’s no one around to see it” – we think that’s just what we need right now, don’t you?
